Voltage Inc. to Release Koibito wa Kouan Keiji (恋人は公安刑事) in English

Posted in Otome Games by

Update 11/13: OP added.

Update 10/25: I’ve been told that the English title of the game will be Her Love in the Force. I will be adding it to the Upcoming Releases page soon. Also, Goto’s and Kaga’s Main Story 1 “Meeting Him” and Main Story 2 “Falling in Love” will be available upon release, and you can also read Secret Stories if you encounter certain events in the “Meeting Him” story, which you unlock using the Love Meter. There is also an option to buy the Secret Stories. I’ve also updated the synopsis with the official one.

In joining The Public Safety Police Academy, you’ve jumped into a world of men!

In pursuit of your dreams of becoming a detective, your supervisor encourages you to enter The Public Safety Police Academy. But as it turns out, it’s a school full of elite officers from around the country! Surrounded by men, you must receive training from ruthless instructors. Then, you suddenly become one of their full-time aides!?

Will you be able to handle the way he blows hot & cold!?

With the release of the Secretly Living Together Sub Story in My Sweet Bodyguard, Voltage Inc. added a limited time bonus image and Prologue preview of the 恋人は専属SP (Eng. title: My Sweet Bodyguard) spin-off game , 恋人は公安刑事, once the Sub Story is completed, indicating that there will be an English release for the spin-off in the near future.

I briefly mentioned it on Tumblr earlier in September, but like with 天下統一★恋の乱, I wanted to be extremely positive before making a post, and Voltage Inc. announced it before I could be! So far, though it was “announced” before True Love Sweet Lies, it still looks like it won’t come out until after True Love Sweet Lies is released. Whether or not it comes out next or after, I’m sure many fans will be excited to finally be able to play this game in English. I’ll keep my eyes open, though, just in case the two are switched.

If past game releases are of any indication, only the first one or two characters will be available upon release, which would be Goto Seiji and Kaga Hyogo.

As far as I’m aware, this is Voltage Inc.’s first spin-off series from any of their games. It didn’t take long for them to do spin-off for another one of their games, so there’s a possibility that we might be seeing even more spin-offs from other games that we’re all familiar with.

Original synopsis (not accurate):

Your aim to become a detective has come around, in the public safety academy that is full of men!

Waiting there, the good-looking highly skilled demon instructor!?

Upon beginning at the academy, you are paired with an instructor for a deep-cover-operation training!?

In the severe training, repeated failures…

Though it is hard training by the demon instructor in the daytime, it is sweet individual guidance at night?

While spending time together, you see the gentle true face of the demon instructor…

Is it not just a student-instructor relationship!?

Be sure to keep your eyes open for any more announcements on Voltage Inc.’s Facebook page!

Well, games are typically released in English about four-six months after their initial release in Japan, aren’t they? It came out in June, so it should be around the time that it gets an English release already. LOL REALLY? They are already translating it/have already translated it. Everything is getting set up for an English release already (hence why I posted it in the first place). It still looks like it’ll come out before this one, too, so I say to wait until Voltage makes an announcement on both. Voltage could always halt Shinjitsu in favor of Kouan, but they’ve already translated things like character profiles and videos, so I don’t doubt that the story is translated already, too.

Ack. I haven’t played his route yet, but I have heard about that. Was it really that bad? I’m not a fan of the writing, but I was hoping that at least the last three routes were better than the first five…. I also don’t think I’d be able to get used to them in the new game once I play their routes in MSB. It’s… weird….

I agree with chu. The voltage make Seiji story too shallow. they dont explain why he moved to PSD or haning an eternal battle with Subaru in MSB *sigh
I love Hideki and i”m looking forward for great story of him on PSD

Seiji is just my type so it was a shame his story turned out that way :( I also really liked kaoru frm our two bedroom story but I heard his story is also similar to seiji, so I didn’t play it. T^T

I really hope they got a new writer for this one then. The sneak preview was too short to get an idea of how the writing is.

Oh, I had heard that Kaoru’s was good? I haven’t played anything from OTBS, so I don’t really have an opinion on it, but I was actually looking forward to Kaoru’s route after hearing that it was good….

I remember reading somewhere that, at least with Goto and Ishigami, that their introduction is in a Sub Story? Yeah, I played Subaru’s Sequel and Goto showed up out of nowhere. When he did, the heroine called him by name, and I was just sitting there wondering how the heck she even knew him if he never even showed up before in Subaru’s previous stories. It honestly boggled my mind that something like that would be allowed.
Agh, seeing how the guys initially interact with the heroine is
practically one of the best parts for me, so I’m really disappointed knowing that that was skipped in their routes. Oh, are Goto’s and Ishigami’s stories only a little similar, or ridiculously similar? It would be a real shame if they are….

Don’t worry their stories are only little similar maybe because they both have similar type of personality. Just a heads up you will feel like a replacement in goto’s route. There were also some people who just stuck through the main story but couldn’t play the sequel and they were some who just couldn’t finish the main story. :)

Hm, I guess I have to wait and play it myself. He’s in my backlog, but I
think all the OTBS stories I have are all the way at the bottom OTL.

I have a T&R on MSB that I didn’t get to finish, but I had the same opinions towards the main five. Their stories just felt so really lacking that I just couldn’t really enjoy it. Goto looks to be one of the most popular characters in the game, so I had allowed myself to hope for just a bit that the writing in his was a lot better than the main five, but hearing you guys say that it wasn’t is just… so very disappointing.

I haven’t played all the stories so I can’t tell whether the main five or the last three routes are better. But the downside of the last three routes is that when the route starts, the MC and the character are already acquainted. There are multiple mentions of events that happened previous to the route that we never get to see. Because of that, we don’t really get to see what the character is like as he first gets to know the MC. Goto and Ishigami’s story are actually similar and they are also shorter than the main five. And I really wish we knew all the things that they mention that already happened.

I think most people like his personality. He was going to be bias in OTBS but after I found out abt his story, I was put off. But maybe you will like it, I’m just too narrow minded to like it lol…anyway try minato as well he is such a tease.
